(Hamsayeh.Net) - Massive attacks in recent few days killed over 150 civilians and 400 others wounded. Meanwhile, Washington dismissed any concerns about the escalation of violence in Iraq, with the government spokesman Geoff Morrell saying 'the overall security climate is a good one.'
Yesterday, a huge bomb killed 75 civilians in a market in Baghdad's Sadr City. Anther bomb attack two days ago, killed over 80 others. Bomb attacks mainly aimed at Shiites in Baghdad.
U.S. officials have a history of dismissing surges of violence. Bomb attacks increase and decrease from month to month, but violent attacks have kept a steady pace since the beginning of the occupation.
In his news conference, Morrell, down played the importance of the rise in violence and predicted that these sorts of actions will even increase in the coming weeks and month ahead.
