June 26 – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned the Obama government not to repeat the “failed policies” of former president George W. Bush.
“The government of the United States should know that these positions are not the language of dialogue. (It) should not repeat the experience of the failed policies of Mr. Bush,” he said. Ahmadinejad was criticizing the stance of the U.S. on Iran’s presidential election. The president emphasized that the Iranian nation will not allow any external power to interfere in its internal matters.
“I advise the United States and a number of European states to reform their behavior because 70 million people are united in Iran and (ready) to confront bullying powers,” he remarked. “The commotion by some of the bullying powers is not out of their sympathy; rather, it is out of their concern for their future.”
He pointed out that Iran welcomes dialogue with the West. “It is better for some countries such as the United States to reform their behavior in such a way that the Iranian nation realizes it because the Iranian nation has always welcomed logic and dialogue and supports peace and justice.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president praised the achievements of the nation after the Islamic Revolution and said, “During the thirty years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and despite all sanctions and pressures, tremendous developments have occurred in the country. During the recent years, in spite of heaviest propaganda campaign, political pressures, economic sanctions, and even military threats, Iran was able to achieve (access) to nuclear and space technology.”
Ahmadinejad also expressed hope that the nation gains the objectives of the 20-yeare outlook plan before the due time.
