Iran doesn't wait long for shift in U.S. policies | |||
Iran's foreign minister said that in the long run, Tehran cannot wait for a shift in the US position toward Iran.
According to IRIB world service, Manouchehr Mottaki, the Iranian foreign minister said in an interview with the Egyptian newspaper "Ash-Shorooq", that "US president, Barack Obama, has always claimed that his policies are different with those of the previous regime, but his words are acceptable only if they are true and put into practice". Mottaki added that Obama talked about nuclear disarmament in the world which was welcomed by Iran, and he also raised the idea of creating a committee with the aim of ridding the world of weapons of mass destruction. The Iranian foreign minister, regarding the reason for a delay in presenting Iran's proposed package for the west and the time of its presenting said it depends on the readiness and cooperation of the western countries. Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister emphasized that different courses of discussion on nuclear disarmament, world economic crisis, regional crises, boosting the position of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), improving the level of cooperation of countries on one hand with each other and on the other hand with the agency, must be defined. Mottaki also laid emphasis on Iran's peaceful and legal nuclear activities and added that his country will continue its cooperation with IAEA and the agency's cameras are still active at Iran's nuclear sites.
