Iran manufactures almost 400,000 vehicles in 4 months. In the four-month period ending on July 22, 2009, 397,165 motor vehicles were manufactured by the public and private sectors in Iran.
In the Iranian calendar month of Tir (June 22-July 22) 106,644 motor vehicles were produced in the country. 92,278 cars were manufactured in Tir showing a 2 percent growth compared to the same period the year before.
The number of cars produced in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year was 336,212. Some 11,578 pick-up trucks, 1,499 trucks, 204 mini-buses, and 193 buses were produced during the month of Tir.
Iran's automobile manufacturing industry has shown a remarkable growth in the past few years and it currently manufactures variety of models and brands. Samand is one of the most popular Iranian manufactured cars. Its a four door sedan and fully equipped. Samand cars are also manufactured in several other countries including Syria and Venezuela.
Iran also enjoys a booming farm equipment industry with its domestically manufactured tractors and combines known for their reliability.
