They are intensifying their hostility, and I am confident that they are making a mistake: Rafsanjani.
March 18, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s Chairman of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafasanjani warned the Western powers, part of the Group of 5+1 countries to avoid repeating the same mistakes as the ones before.
‘These countries (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) did not treat us well after the revolution and took inappropriate actions. Now there are new issues, such as the nuclear and missile issues… and they are intensifying their hostility, and I am confident that they are making a mistake. They will trouble themselves and us but will not gain anything,’ MNA reported Rafsanjani as saying on Wednesday.
Rafsanjani said Iran does not intend to produce nuclear weapons and Western powers better concentrate their efforts on building friendly relationship with Iran and avoid using threats. According to Rafsanjani, Tehran should also ease concerns over its domestic nuclear program in order to pave the way for better relationship with the West.
Iran is now a considered a nuclear capable state. Last month it began processing higher enriched uranium of up to 20 percent for use at Tehran’s medical reactor. But Western powers being envious of the Middle Eastern country’s nuclear capabilities, press forward their illegal demand from Tehran to dismantle its entire nuclear program immediately.
Tehran dismisses West’s bullying tactics saying its nuclear program is completely peaceful and being a signatory to the NPT, it would continue with the nuclear program.
