Former Attorney General John Ashcroft, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and CIA Director George Tenet all signed the letter, issued on January 6, 2004.
March 18, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - A recently released piece of information reveals that the Commission in charge of investigating the September 11th events was threatened to scale down its investigative procedures by an official order from the former US administration.
It warned the investigative team to not cross the line in protecting the nation against terrorist attacks. The letter said for reasons of safeguarding the national security and protection of Americans from future attacks, it is demanded that the Commission not to investigate too deeply into the September 11 attacks.
‘As the officers of the United States responsible for the law enforcement, defense and intelligence functions of the Government, we urge your Commission not to further pursue the proposed request to participate in the questioning of detainees,’ the letter obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) exposed. Former Attorney General John Ashcroft, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and CIA Director George Tenet all signed the letter, which was issued on January 6, 2004.
Some leading US analysts and over a quarter of Americans believe the September 11 attacks were a major fabrication by the former US administration in order to justify military invasions of oil rich nations in other parts of the world.
Following the 9/11 attacks, the Bush administration instead of going after those who committed the act, invaded Iraq under the pretext of stopping Saddam Hussein’s from obtaining nuclear weapons.
