Officials Deplore Obama's N. Threats Against Iran

The last summit in Washington was just a show-off, because those who possesses nuclear weapons could not be trusted.

Tehran, April 17, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Tehran’s Friday Prayers speaker Hojatoleslam Kazzem Sediqi yesterday blasted recent remarks by the US President over attacking Iran with nuclear weapons, calling the remark violated all human norms and values.

The Hojaoleslam said, Obama represented instances of sheer foolishness and worst case of disgrace incompatible with all the human norms and conducts when he uttered those words. ‘Although the US does have a dark nuclear past, it could not threaten the use of nuclear weapons against an NPT member,’ emphasized the speaker.

Also speaking at the Friday Prayer congregation prior to the opening of a major nuclear conference on global nuclear disarmament, Iran’s Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki criticized latest comments by the US President.

Mottaki said uttering such threats is considered a crime and the US must be held accountable for its misdemeanor. According to Mottaki, the West has failed to rid the world of nuclear weapons. He said the last summit in Washington was just a show-off, because those who possesses nuclear weapons could not be trusted.

‘Some years ago former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower said that all countries should try to make a world free from nuclear weapons,’ Mottaki said and added, ‘ But today what world leaders say about nuclear disarmament is totally different from what Eisenhower said 40 years ago.’

The US is the only country in history that has ever used nuclear weapons on other people.
