Our army and people will promptly react to any 'punishment' and 'retaliation' and to any 'sanctions' infringing upon our state interests with various forms of tough measures including an all-out war: North Korea. May 20, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - South Korean investigators say a North Korean torpedo fired from a submarine in the area caused the March explosion that sank a navy ship. North Korea has denied involvement in the incident which killed several South Korean personnel. Investigators in Seoul claim they have found pieces of torpedo exactly matching North Korean manufactured CHT-02D, Pyongyang exports to other countries. Recovered pieces of evidence include propellers; propulsion motor and steering section perfectly matching North Korean torpedo design were found alongside remains from under the sea, investigators reported. ‘The evidence points overwhelmingly to the conclusion that the torpedo was fired by a North Korean submarine," the joint civilian and military investigation team, that also included experts from the United States, Britain and Sweden, said in the report on the March 26 sinking,’ it added. The South Korean navy vessel was on a joint military exercise in a disputed zone in the Yellow Sea when it suddenly went under water on March 26, 2010. Pyongyang had already warned countries involved in the military exercise to not get too close to the disputed area when the incident occurred. South Korea and its military allies regularly conduct military drills close to disputed areas without paying attention to North’s stern warnings. South Korean officials promised retaliation in response to that incident. ‘In recent days the South Korean government has been presenting this evidence to a number of countries to gather support … We've already heard support from strong allies such as Australia, the US and Japan,’ a South Korean official was reported as saying by Aljazeera. North Korea also warned extraterritorial enemies to watch their actions and stop threatening North Korean national interests. ‘Our army and people will promptly react to any 'punishment' and 'retaliation' and to any 'sanctions' infringing upon our state interests with various forms of tough measures including an all-out war,’ Aljazeera reported a North Korean official communiqué as saying.
