US Imposes Self-Inflicted Sanctions on Iran |

These new actions target IRGC banking networks and freezing of assets in US. It also seeks to inspect ships and planes carrying goods to and from Iran. June 17, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The notoriously corrupt US Treasury department announced its own imposition of so-called financial sanctions against the Iranian government and a major part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps banking system. US' self-inflicted sanction idea is designed mainly to divert attentions away from the current financial mayhem sweeping across Europe and North America. Under the pretext of a UNSC imposed resolution against Iran issued last week, the US is eager to impose sanctions in the hope of putting pressure on Tehran. ‘Our actions today are designed to deter other governments and foreign financial institutions from dealing with these entities and thereby supporting Iran's illicit activities,’ U.S. Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner told local news agencies. The US Treasury secretary is well known for his being under the direct influence of AIPAC – an Israeli-American entity that controls the United States - along with the rest of Obama administration officials. He is also known for introducing redundant economic theories that have so far failed to rejuvenate the moribund US economy. These new actions target IRGC banking networks and freezing of assets in US. It also seeks to inspect ships and planes carrying goods to and from Iran. Iran has already warned the US that if the US continues to harass its transportation sector, it would retaliate in kind by inspecting ships crossing the narrow Straight of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. |
