Our infinite gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its fraternal support, allowing us to turn the impossible into reality: Hugo Chavez.
June 21, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Popular Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez praised Cuban assistance for restructuring and developing his country’s national public health system, Latin American news agency La Presna Latina reported on Sunday. The President said Cuban expertise in the field of medical science is helping over 8,500 of Venezuela’s soon-to-become doctors begin their careers in hospitals across the country. ‘There is a sowing season and a harvest season, as established in the Bible. Harvest time has come after five years of work with the fraternal support of revolutionary Cuba,’ Chavez reiterated. According to La Presna Latina, Hugo Chavez also appreciated Iran’s continuous support for transfer of industrial know-how to Venezuela particularly in the field of auto-manufacturing. ‘Our infinite gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its fraternal support, allowing us to turn the impossible into reality: making popular vehicles like Centauro and Turpial, with spearhead technology,’ La Presna Latina quoted Chavez as saying. For decades, oil rich Latin American nation, Venezuela, has been under constant pressures from the United States to play a key role in the region as a puppet-consumer nation and an all-out importer of consumer goods from other industrial manufacturers. The country had to pay for its massive imports through hard-earned petrodollars. But now after several years of coming into power of the Bolivarian revolutionary leader Hugo Chavez, the country is being transformed into one of the region's powerhouses undergoing progress in social and industrial sectors unlike before. Cuba on the other hand had succeeded in building one of the world’s highest human development standards following the Cuban Revolution under its legendary leader Fidel Castro from 1959. The island nation has had universal healthcare, education, social and economic coverages for every single citizen across the country despite years of American embargoes and aggressions toward the Latin nation.
