July 07, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - All across the US there’s going to be an additional 400,000 full time positions in local governments and public sectors lost by the end of this year alone, economists predict.

States, counties and cities are grappling with lower revenue and struggling to keep up with ballooning debts. According to financial analysts, federal stimulus funds under the TARP program introduced last year would be reduced by as much as $55 billion for states next year. In the mean time, across the United States local governments have an accumulated budget shortfall of over $150 billion fiscal year 2011, starting July 01.

Many of the layoffs target police, fire, school and transportation sectors.  There have been over 8.5 million full time jobs lost in the United States since the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis caused by speculative marketing practices that is another term for casino capitalism. Leading analysts believe neither the Obama administration nor any other future administrations could ever resolve the deepening crises the oil-dependent US economy is experiencing. That’s mainly due to the fact that the country has lost most of its manufacturing to Asian competitors, a process that cannot be reversed under current circumstances.
