It is natural that under such conditions, there is no room for negotiations and discussions: MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
Tehran, July 19, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian official dismissed a call by the United States Congress for further talks, saying the conditions are not ripe for such negotiations to take place at this time between the two sides.
Earlier the head of US Congress Foreign Affairs Committee offered a fresh round of talks between Tehran and Washington. Iran’s head of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, told Swiss ambassador to Tehran, Livia Leu Agosti, that Tehran sees conditions unripe for such meeting to take place at this time. Swiss Embassy has been representing US interests in Iran since the closure of its former Tehran embassy in 1979. Boroujerdi explained that due to continuation of US meddling in the region, Washington’s support for UNSC resolution against Iran and particularly its role supporting terrorist activities in southeastern parts of Iran, it would be impossible to hold any talks. ‘Under the current conditions there is no room for negotiations,’ Boroujerdi said.
