Tehran, July 20, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net)- Iranian President on Monday in industrial city of Qazvin about 200 km west of Tehran said Iran will not step back an iota in its nuclear program no matter how much sanctions are placed on the country.

‘No sanctions resolution can possibly force Iran to relinquish its access to nuclear program,’ said Ahmadinejad. The United States and its allies have been hoping an stringent set of sanctions against Iran would force the oil-rich Middle Eastern country to give up an already advanced nuclear program in return for some small incentives including delivery of a number of US and European manufactured passenger aircrafts and phony security guarantees. Tehran has made it clear that no amount of incentives would manage change Iran’s inner desire to complete its quest for mastery of a peaceful nuclear program.  

Ahmadinejad said, ‘Since they imposed sanctions on Iran in 2006, the country’s industrial exports have nearly tripled in Qazvin and some other provinces,’ adding, ‘if they step up their pressure now, our industrial complexes will be able to become competitive at the international level.’

Many leading analysts believe the West is poised to suffer more by implementing sanctions than Iran itself. ‘You could knock yourself out with your sanctions. Every piece of machinery or equipment that you don’t sell to us, we will make here at home,’ the Iranian President said.
