Iran’s President Ahmadinejad Begins His Long Anticipated Visit to Lebanon |

Lebanese officials have hailed Iran’s assistances in rebuilding the country after the 2006 devastating Israeli invasion, which destroyed much of the infrastructures including electricity and water systems.
October 13, 2010 (Hamsayeh.net) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began his long anticipated visit to Lebanon after arriving at Beirut International Airport and warmly welcomed by President Michel Suleiman and other prominent Lebanese officials this morning. Ahmadinejad’s two-day visit to Lebanon marks a growing relationship between the two historic neighbors in a volatile region. A large number of enthusiastic Lebanese people lined along the route to the Presidential Palace where the Iranian President would hold a press conference later this afternoon. Ahmadinejad is also scheduled a visit close to the border where Israel commenced its illegal invasion of Lebanon in 2006. Lebanese forces repelled the Israeli invasion after 33 days of fierce fighting. Since that time Lebanon has successfully reinforced its defenses against any future Israel incursion against its territory. The Lebanese government has asked the Islamic Republic to equip the country’s army and supply the state with mean of defending the country, as reported by Press TV on Wednesday. Lebanese officials have also hailed Iran’s assistances in rebuilding the country after the 2006 devastating Israeli invasion, which destroyed much of the infrastructures including electricity and water systems. Ahmadinejad will also attend a number of public gatherings to be held most particularly in South Lebanon.
