Turkey Warns Israel of Further Isolation in the Muslim World

Israel must apologize to Turkey and pay compensation. If it does not, it will be doomed to remain isolated in the Middle East: Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

October 15, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, enjoying massive support in the Muslim world and also in other countries, said during a visit to flood-stricken Pakistan, yesterday, ‘Israel must apologize to Turkey and pay compensation. If it does not, it will be doomed to remain isolated in the Middle East.’

The Israeli regime resiliently dismisses UN and international fact-finding missions’ reports that clearly blame Israeli forces for crimes committed against innocent Turkish activists aboard Mavi Marmara - a Gaza bound humanitarian flotilla - last May. Following blatant Israeli forces attack on Turkish flotilla sailing in the international waters, 9 Turkish activists were killed and more than 50 others wounded, some quite seriously.

Earlier, Turkish lawyers reported they are presenting the International Criminal Court (ICC) with plenty of evidence including video, eye-witnesses reports, a UN panel report that would be more than enough to convince the ICC of Israel’s crime against humanity and that all perpetrators should be brought to justice.

Powerful Turkey has been calling on Washington to support a legal proceeding on the killings of its citizens by Israeli commandos without any bias. However, much to Ankara’s dismay the Obama administration continues to reject the UN report and condemn Israel for its blatant action against the international community.
