The Iranian nation and government stand by the Palestinian people and will help them achieve their rights: Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council.

Tehran, October 22, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran, Salah Zawawi, reiterated Iran’s full support for Palestinian rights despite ongoing pressures from imperial powers to sow seeds of discord and dissuade the Islamic Republic from its main principles.

‘The Iranian nation and government stand by the Palestinian people and will help them achieve their rights,’ said Rafsanjani as quoted by Iran’s FARS news agency on Wednesday.  

Iran has been a steadfast supporter of Palestinian rights for a number of years and in this context Hashemi Rafsanjani once again stressed the importance of unity and continuation of resistance among all Palestinians to achieve restoration of their rights. ‘Past experiences have shown that rights of the Palestinian people cannot be restored without resistance,’ Rafsanjani said.

The Palestinian Ambassador, for his part, hailed Iran's support for Palestinian resistance.
