The United States and Western allies had anticipated a more uniform support by all the member of the group for additional sanctions against Iran if it does not halt enrichment program or agree to swap nuclear fuel unconditionally. But, Tehran said it would continue with its nuclear program with or without sanctions.
Yesterday, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a gathering of students in Ahvaz, Khuzestan province, Iran is determined to continue the nuclear program and at this time its domestic nuclear progress has reached a point that even if the main enemy together with its allies try to stop the nuclear progress, they will not be able to succeed.
‘The Iranian nation is determined to conquer the high peaks of progress and will never allow the arrogant powers to materialize its goal of dominating the Middle East.’ IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying. The Iranian President addressed the audience that the assassination of Masoud Alimohamadi was to undermine Iran’s nuclear progress.
