Iran's Nuclear Program is Irreversible: Rafsanjani | |||
Increasing Political Pressures to Halt Peaceful Nuclear Program, Only Futile.
Tehran, Jan. 31, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Hashemi Rafsanjani, Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council, told a group of people gathered at EC meeting in Tehran yesterday, Iran would continue with its peaceful nuclear program and under no circumstances could back track from it.
‘No matter we are talking about (uranium) enrichment or uranium swap, they (the West) should know that Iran is completely serious in dealing with its nuclear issues,’ Rafsanjani told the audience.
The Chairman said some countries including the United States have tried many times to exert political pressures on Tehran to halt its domestic nuclear program, but such efforts have so far proven futile as ‘Our path is irreversible and we won't retreat.’
Most Iranian officials however dismissed threats of more sanctions. Yesterday, a senior Iranian oil official told reporters that Tehran sees plenty of choices when it comes to choosing suppliers for its imported gasoline.
