Moscow attaches great importance to international laws in taking steps, which do not endanger regional stability.

 

Tehran, February 26, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Sergei Lavrov Russia’s Foreign Minister announced Moscow will certainly deliver the S-300 air defense systems to Iran as soon as technical problems were resolved.

 

He said Russia always honors its legal contracts if they do not cause further tensions in the region. Lavrov said Moscow attaches great importance to international laws in taking steps, which do not endanger regional stability.

 

‘All our arms deliveries are consonant with this principle and we expect other nations also to be guided by it, who not only supply defensive but also other weapons, which had killed our peacekeepers,’ FNA reported Lavrov as saying.

 

Last year, Georgian troops stormed South Ossetia causing major humanitarian damages to people and the CIS peacekeeping troops in the area.

 

S-300 air defense system is one of the most reliable systems in the world.

They can detect and shoot down several flying objects at over 150 km in mid-air, simultaneously. A vast majority of military experts believe S-300 is way more superior to its American counterpart the Patriot missiles, known to be less accurate thus missing designated targets frequently.
