Iran Serves as A Bridge Between the West and the East.
February 26, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on an official visit to Japan today attended a meeting with researches and professors from the country’s prestigious Meiji University in Tokyo.
Larijani told the group of audience that Iran has historically served as a bridge between the West and the East. He said Iran links the western cultures like the one from Greece to that of China and Japan.
Larijani also described Iran as a multicultural country enjoying a high level of appreciations for all the religions and cultures that contribute to the richness of the Iranian civilization from time immemorial.
The Speaker brushed aside Western powers’ negative media campaigns against Iran, which have picked up momentum in recent months particularly over the Iranian nuclear program. He reaffirmed the country’s determination to pursuit a peaceful nuclear program similar to that of the Japanese model.
‘We appreciate Japan’s approach to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities and believe that Japan has a much better understanding of global realities and developments,’ Mehr News Agency reported Larijani as saying.
