NATO Will Conduct a Military Drill in The Baltic Sea

NATO is Making it Clear That It's the Main Global Police Force.

March 05, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - US and NATO allied countries announced their plan to hold a large-scale military drill in the Baltic region close to Russia’s border.

In addition to the US and other NATO members, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will also participate in the exercise. The drill will involve French made Mirage 2000c, Polish F-16 and Lithuanian L-39 Albatross fighters, RIA Novosti Reported.

A NATO spokesman said, ‘NATO solidarity and commitment to its member countries in the Baltic region.’ Several thousand troops would take part in the drill about 100 kilometres from the Russian border. In recent months NATO has taken a more proactive role against Russia. It has effectively surrounded the huge country all around its maritime borders. The NATO also seeks greater involvements around China, Iran and Latin America to make it clear to everyone that it's going to be the main global police force in the future.

In 2009, Russia conducted a military drill alongside Belarus in the Baltic Sea. The exercise involved 13,000 troops and modern weaponry. Last week, Moscow signed a military contract with France to buy 4 Mistral warships in the largest ever purchase of arms from a NATO member country by Russia.
