Iraqi Shia Leader Calls for US Withdrawal From Iraq | |||

Since the invasion over one million Iraqi people killed and millions more injured.
March 07, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iraqi Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr has called on all Iraqis to participate in the parliamentary vote and support those who seek to expel US troops out of the country.
Mr. Sadr was speaking at a press conference here in Tehran. He said all Iraqis must help the resistance against the occupiers. The United States invaded Iraq in 2003 seeking to oust former Baathist regime of Saddam Hussein. But US troops continue to stay in Iraq despite the collapse of the Baathist regime. Since the invasion over one million Iraqi people killed and millions more injured.
At this moment most Iraqis want an immediate US troops pull out of their country and end to all the fighting. Al-Sadr who has thousands of staunch followers mostly in the holy cities of Nadjaf and Karbala has called for an immediate end to occupation of Iraq.
There are over 6,200 candidates from across the country for 325 seats in the Council of Representative. |
