‘China and Azerbaijan enjoyed long-time friendship, and China attached great importance to the bilateral relations,’ said Chen Bingde, Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

October 26, 2010 (Hamsayeh.net) - China and Azerbaijan have stepped up their military ties, reported China’s state news agency Xinhua on Tuesday.

Oil-rich Republic of Azerbaijan and China have reached an agreement to strengthen military cooperation after a high level meeting between military officials of the two countries.

‘China and Azerbaijan enjoyed long-time friendship, and China attached great importance to the bilateral relations,’ said Chen Bingde, Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. The Chinese official added that Beijing hails sound military cooperation and exchanges with Baku.

For his part, Azeri Defense Minister, Safar Abiyev, said his country attaches special importance to friendly ties including military cooperation with Beijing and thanked China’s support to this special relationship, Xinhua reported.
