Lebanon has [an] oil field shared with Israel. Three-quarters of this field belongs to Lebanon and a quarter of the field belongs to the occupying regime, the Zionist Regime is about to exploit oil soon, but the Lebanese have not done anything in the field yet. November 03, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran announced its readiness to begin oil explorations in Lebanese offshore areas in the near future. A section of the sea shared by Lebanon and Zionist regime, is the site of untapped oil and gas reserves. Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi, told reporters Tehran is well prepared to start exploration works on this untapped oil and gas reserve. ‘Lebanon has [an] oil field shared with Israel. Three-quarters of this field belongs to Lebanon and a quarter of the field belongs to the occupying regime, the Zionist Regime is about to exploit oil soon, but the Lebanese have not done anything in the field yet,’ Rodkhani told reporters Monday. The ambassador added that even prior to Iran’s expression of readiness for cooperation with Lebanon, the Zionist regime’s parliament reacted harshly that Iran should join Lebanon in such a joint venture. The oil reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea are minor compared to those in found in the Persian Gulf but still very valuable for countries of the region. Iranian oil experts would conduct a seismic survey of the area for potential oil-gas. Iran enjoys plenty of experience in on shore and off shore oil-gas explorations in the Persian Gulf and other major oil projects around the world.
