Iran Ready to test Own version of S-300 System

We have developed the system by upgrading systems like the S-200 and we have tested it successfully using all our potential and experience: Official.

November 18, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian officials have announced the country has developed a domestic version of famed Russian S-300 anti-air missile system. The move represents a surprise set back for Moscow which had renegade on its 700 Million euro contract to supply S-300 system to Iran. According to report the latest anti-air missile defense system is based on an earlier version called S-200 and its is ready for final test firing soon.

'We have developed the system by upgrading systems like the S-200 and we have tested it successfully using all our potential and experience in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the Army and the Defense Ministry,' Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan Mansourian told Press TV on Wednesday. The Iranian official also noted that the system has been developed following Moscow's refusal to deliver the S-300 last September.

In yet another opportunistically targeted short-term tactical move by Moscow in its ongoing dealings with Washington, Russia annulled its own officially ratified contract to deliver S-300 system to Iran citing a redundant anti-Iran UNSC resolution.

Meanwhile, NATO and US forces continue to slowly but surely surround Russia's vast territory all the way from the North Pole to the Baltic Sea, thereby placing themselves in a position to effectively control Russia from all directions when a need arise.

America's vastly superior technology in missile defense systems is designed to turn offensive almost immediately. These systems are now being stationed in Poland and other European countries overseeing Russia's tiny enclave of Kaliningrad.
