Tehran, August 23, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The group of 5+1 countries consisting of members, the United States, Britain, Germany, China and Russia will hold their next round of meeting over Iran's peaceful nuclear program on September 2nd.
According to a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry on August 20, the Russian and US foreign ministers have already discussed the issue and decided on the date of the meeting.
It seems that the western countries would continue on their efforts to convince Russia and China to support a fourth round of economic sanctions against Iran. The proposed economic sanctions, which include blocking exports of gasoline fuel to Iran, are expected to apply pressure on Tehran for ending its peaceful nuclear program! Russia and China have completely rejected the idea.
In the past meetings, Western powers tried hard to put pressure on Iran to suspend the nuclear program. However, those pressures were applied while Iran was closely cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Organization and cleared of any types of diversion in its nuclear undertakings.
Iran is still cooperation with the IAEA and last week allowed enhanced access to some of its nuclear sites.
