Tehran, August 30, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran labelled as positive the latest UN atomic watchdog's latest report on the country's peaceful nuclear program and promised to continue uranium enrichment.
The head of Iran's nuclear energy organization Ali Akbar Salehi was quoted as saying, 'Fortunately the current IAEA report has been more positive than the earlier ones due to the new approach taken by Iran.' Mr. Salehi was referring to Iran's positive cooperation with the IAEA and agreement for further enhancement of collaboration with the said agency.
According to latest reports by the atomic agency watchdog, Iran has so far succeeded in safely converting over one and half tons of low enriched uranium hexafluoride for future use in electric power generators. Also, Iranian engineers and scientists have increased the number of centrifuge machines from 5000 units to over 8000 units by this month. Iran plans on installing up to 55,000 centrifuges machines for enrichment purposes in the near future.
Some western countries afraid of losing their own monopoly over the scientific aspects of the nuclear technology are making media hooplas over Iran's peaceful nuclear program, saying that they are the ones that have the right to nuclear technology. However the majority of the world public opinion represented by the Non-Aligned Movement countries (NAM) support Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology.
