Bariloche, Argentina, Aug 28 - Bolivian President Evo Morales proposed in the meeting of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) the adoption of a rejecting declaration against the installation of foreign military bases in the region, in the Friday session.
Morales said the presence of the US troops in military bases in Colombia to fight against drug trafficking is just a pretext to dominate and control South American nations.
He made a review of the consequences that the US presence brought for Bolivia to popular leaders, workers, farmers, miners, etc, and the presence of foreign troops would only disqualify the local forces and police.
He denounced the US objective is to create lack of confidence between the member countries of UNASUR, proposed a referendum on the presence of the US military bases in Colombia or any other Latin American country and warned that the presence of US military bases in Colombia is dangerous for the region.
