Tegucigalpa - Honduran trade unions and teacher training colleges are staging a new 48-hour strike, as part of the people's resistance unleashed in this nation after the June 28 military coup.
The labor organizations' decision was adopted during a meeting held on Wednesday afternoon, leaders of the National Front against the Coup d'Etat stated.
Most unions in the public sector joined actions to restore constitutional order and reinstate President Manuel Zelaya.
Meanwhile, the Honduran Federation of Teacher Organizations and the National Front will continue resisting and also demanding a national constituent assembly.
The teachers' union called to a general strike a day after the June 28 military coup and adopted that kind of struggle four weeks later, to avoid losing the school year.
Peoples' forces have reached their 68th consecutive day of protests against the putschists on Thursday.
