Tehran, 27 September 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - According to Iranian News Agency IRNA, this morning, the Iranian armed forces successfully launched short-range missiles at designated targets.

 

In today’s drill short-range missiles including Zelzal meaning quake, Fateh and Tondar were tested. The missiles were able to hit their targets flawlessly.

 

Iran possesses one of world’s largest collections of missiles from short to long-range in its vast inventory. The country’s most powerful missile is called SHAHAB, which is capable of hitting targets as far away as 2000 km. Iran also manufactures ultra high-speed sea-borne missiles capable of destroying the most hardened floating sea objects at about 300 km distance.

 

In a statement issued by the IRGC, the war games codenamed “Payambar e Azam 4 (The Great Messenger)”, are aimed at maintaining and promoting the defensive capability of the country.

 

The military drill will continue in the next few days by testing some of the long-range types including Shahab and Sejjil missiles.
