Tehran, October 25, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) – Tehran is Iran’s largest city with a population of about 10 million people. It like other major cities around the world has its own share of chronic problems including Pollution, traffic, constructions, high-rises, noise, etc. - just to name a few.
Unfortunately, Tehran city’s municipality due to some shortcomings in its initial phase of planning has created the city into a giant pile of brick buildings with very limited access to green spaces like parks and lakes within its inner districts.
There is however one exception and that’s the district 22 which lies in north-eastern section of the city. This district carries most of Tehran’s major Parks, sporting facilities and the famous Azadi stadium which handles 100,000 cheering spectators during sporting events..
Tehran's 22nd district houses a very large park called Chitgar, an excellent place for cyclists and sporting fans of all ages. We visited the Chitgar Park the other day and discovered how great it was. It has a sports complex and a vast network of cycling routes that run for tens of kilometers inside the park's perimeter surrounded with pine trees.
The management at the Chitgar is responsible for the park’s day to day affairs especially its cleanliness. We spoke with Majid Jabari one of on-site employees who works hard to make sure the park is maintained well during its working hours.
Jabari said the park's management welcomes people’s cooperation in trying to make the park a better and better place. For their parts Jabari and his co-workers have recently placed quite a few numbers of plastic trashcans around the park so people could have an easier time throwing out their wastes and garbage while enjoying the facilities.
The management at the 22nd district and particularly the Chitgar park’s administration team are doing a great job so that this park continue to be a place where people enjoy their spare time away from all the tensions/pollutions of the city. Hopefully, people visiting this park would also cooperate with the park’s management team in order to helping increase the quality of the services provided.
