Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan arrived in Tehran Monday night atop a high ranking delegation for a two day official visit. According to IRNA reporter, Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki received the Turkish PM at Tehran's International Mehrabad Airport.
The official reception ceremony of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan will be held at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, hosted by First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi. Erdogan who arrived in Iran after his visit of Pakistan did not answer the media representatives at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport, but he had earlier in Islamabad said that during his visit of Tehran he would discuss bilateral ties and regional and international developments with Turkey's valuable neighbor, Iran.
The Turkish prime minister would during this visit in addition to meeting the first vice president and the foreign minister, have meetings with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and a number of other high ranking officials.
He is also expected to have a meeting with the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneie during this visit.
Attending the Joint Economic Meeting of Iran and Turkey and participation at a press conference are among the top priorities in Prime Minister Erdogan during his Tehran visit.
The accompanying delegation of Erdogan includes the Turkish energy minister, foreign minister, and a number of other ministers, 20 parliament members, over 80 private sector representatives and 35 major Turkish media reporters.
