Tehran, November 06, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Leading Iranian artist and film director Majid majidi was selected to preside over the International Golden Karagoz Film Festival grand jury to be held from Nov. 14 to 22.

 

Majidi who has directed films including 'The Song of Sparrows', 'The Willow Tree' and 'Children of Heaven' has won many international awards at top film festivals.

 

Other participating figures - Hungarian director Atilla Gigor, French director Marie Jaoul de Poncheville, Turkish actor/director Cansel Elcin, Turkish actress Fadik Sevin, Greek distributor Velissarios Kossivakis and Bulgarian film studio owner Andrey Karanikolov - are members of the jury.

 

“A Light in the Fog” directed by Iran’s Panahbarkhoda Rezaii would be competing with eleven films from across the world in this festival, which is scheduled from November 14 to 22.

 

Out of Competition Short Films category of the festival will also screen “The Fall”, directed by Iranian filmmaker Amir Mehran on the 1979 revolution.
