Tehran, November 11, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexander Sadonikov today reassured Iran that his country fully abides to its commitments regarding nuclear projects currently underway in Iran.
According to a report by IRNA, the Ambassador speaking to head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaedin Boroujerdi, confirmed Russian commitment in nuclear cooperation with Iranian counterpart, also, looking forward to expanding political, parliamentary, industrial and cultural ties.
He extended an invitation from head of Russian Duma's Foreign Relations to Mr. Boroujerdi.
Sadonikov said Russia considers Iran an important regional and international power. For his part, Boroujerdi said Iran expects Russia to expedite the projects currently underway as new horizons should open as we build mutual trust between Iran and the West during the nuclear talks.
Russia is currently engaged in several infrastructural projects inside Iran. Amongst those the most important one is Bushehr Nuclear reactor in southern part of the country.
The Russians have been changing the date of completion of this reactor many times. Russia cites technical reasons behind delays in completion of the reactor. Bushehr is expected to become operational by the end of this year or beginning of next year.
