		Tehran, Nov. 14, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - An Iranian member of Parliament (Majlis) said that by taking advantage of the opportunities created by the OANA meetings in Tehran, the Western media monopoly could be ended in the region. Ahmad Reza Dastegheib said that the only way to end the imperialistic powers' monopoly over the flow of information is the convergence of media outlets that are active in the region. He said there have been significant efforts made to improve the media's situation in Iran, but there is still a lot more need to be done. Iran is hosting the OANA (Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies ) from Nov. 13 to 17 at the Esteghlal Hotel in Tehran.
