Tehran, Nov. 17, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian cultural festival opened in Syrian town of Hama and it is scheduled to run for one week. Several high ranking Syrian cultural figures as well as Iran’s ambassador to Syria attended the opening ceremony on Sunday.
Iranian Ambassador to Syria Seyyed Ahmad Musavi made a speech at the opening ceremony underlining the importance of kipping alive the culture of resistance across the world. He also said that both Syria and Iran have truly sensed the importance of this culture and strive to back the culture of resistance.
‘The identity of each country is hidden in its culture and we need to reinforce it and transfer it to the next generation…as the two nations of Iran and Syria enjoy many commonalties in religious, cultural and historical issues and we should make the best use of them to develop,” Musavi said.
He added that Tehran is ready to transfer all its knowledge and scientific achievements to Syria.
The festival will show film screens, exhibitions, book fair, handicrafts and art works by Iranian artist and craftsmen for a week.
