Tehran, Nov. 19, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian armed forces chief of staff General Hassan Firouzabadi said the Saudi Kingdom’s direct involvement in massacring Shias in Yemen is the start of ‘State Wahabi Terrorism.’
The Iranian Major General warned politicians in Yemen and Saudi Arabia of severe consequences to the entire region should the ‘Wahabi Terrorism’ continue unhindered.
Wahabism is an intolerant and extremist interpretation of Islam mainly practiced in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It has followers inside the ruling families of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom has devoted a lot of financial support from oil revenues to the Wahabi sect extremism.
Since last August some statesmen in Yemen with helps from Saudi Arabia launched military attacks on Shia civilian and Houthi fighters.
Saudi Arabia initially denied any involvement in the fighting but its military now openly joins the offensive and conducts air raids on towns and villages inside Yemen.
Yesterday, Saudi F-15 and Tornado jet fighters made aerial strikes on Saada and surrounding villages killing scores of civilians, as reported by Al-Alam News Agency.
Maj. Gen. Firouzabadi emphasized that the war on the people of Yemen is the result of efforts in Britain and the United States to cause rifts among Muslims around the globe.
He warned that the Sana'a fighting is a prelude for further regional conflicts in the future.
