Moscow, Nov. 20, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The 5+1 group is due to meet today in Brussels to discuss Iran’s nuclear program. A Russian delegation headed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will attend the meeting.
According to Ryabkov the purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues related to Iran’s nuclear dossier.
“Recently intensive processes have moved to improve a dialogue on Iran. In the beginning of October the Sextet met in Geneva. Now it is necessary to synchronise positions and think of what we should do further,” he said.
Ryabkov also said the issue is beyond the competence of the 5+1 since it is not a direct player in this process.
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anderi Nesterenko announce yesterday that the U.N. Security Council has no plans on discussing about Iran sanctions.
“At present, the U.N. Security Council is not discussing additional sanctions on Iran. We believe that we have all possibilities to implement the Geneva agreements. It is important to give a chance to diplomats to work. Excessive emotions do harm,” the Russian FM spokesman stressed.
