Tehran, Nov. 23, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s Armed Forces are conducting their annual drill codenamed ‘Defenders of the Velayat’s Skies 2’ aimed at defending the country’s nuclear sites.
Iran’s Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the country wouldn’t wait for others to supply its defense equipment and in this way it is not going to depend on Russian made S-300 system. But he said the army would follow through the S-300 contract asking Russia to fulfill its commitments in delivering S-300 system to Iran.
The relatively older version Russian made S-300 has, nevertheless, proven to be a reliable anti-aircraft missile system. It can simultaneously seek and destroy several flying objects over a 100 km
in mid-air.
The Top General said that enemy’s latest threats are mere psychological warfare and it is certain that they are not capable of doing misadventures against Iran, because they have no idea what the response would be.
