Nov. 23, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad started his tour of five African and Latin American countries. Accompanying him are members of his politico-economic delegation.
Ahmadinejad will pay official visits to Gambia and Senegal in Africa and then to Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil in Latin America. Prior to Ahmadinejad’s arrival to Brazil Iran’s Ambassador Mohsen Shaterzadeh speaking to IRNA said that Iran and Brazil are two influential powers on the international scene.
Iranian President will arrive in Brasilia today. ‘Iran and Brazil share similar views on important international developments and issues.’ The Ambassador said. ‘They are also against unilateralism and are interested in strengthening of the South-South cooperation.’
Brazil is South America’s biggest economy. Its developments in recent years have been robust and it plays a major role as an economic powerhouse in Latin America. Iran too is a regional power in the Middle East which boasts massive potentials in energy, skilled manpower, manufacturing and cultural exchanges.
Shaterzadeh said Iran and Brazil are two big powers in their regions and both countries are very much interested to expand their bilateral ties.
