Tehran and Caracas Stand United Against US Imperialism
Nov. 26, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian President’s Africa-Latin America tour will wrap up by his official visit to Senegal. At the final leg of Ahmadinejad’s visits to Latin America, the Iranian President met Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, yesterday in Caracas.
Iran and Venezuela signed twelve cooperation agreements in housing, agriculture, fisheries, transportation, energy, environment, tourism and education. Ahmadineja’s Latin American tours drew especial attention around the world.
In Brazil President Lula gave his full support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and while in Caracas both leaders reinstated their united stance against US imperialism.
'Today the people of Venezuela and Iran, friends and brothers in the trench warfare against imperialism, are resisting and they will stand together until the end.’ Chavez told reporters.
The popular Latin American revolutionary President used the occasion to address an earlier comment made by Israeli President Shimon Peres during his visit to South Africa this month that both Iran and Venezuelan Presidents’ days in power maybe numbered.
‘We know what the state of Israel stands for -- a murderous arm of the Yankee empire. What the president of Israel said, we take as a threat.’ Chavez said, as reported by Reuters.
