Anti-Iran Resolution is of 'No Value'
Nov. 28, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian people are starting to show their dislike of the IAEA’s latest decision on the country’s nuclear program. A leading member of Majlis (Parliament) Hojatolislam Hossein Ebrahimi was one among many in the parliament who dismissed the decision.
According to Ebrahimi the Majlis is going to convene tomorrow to study the latest anti-Iran resolution adopted on Friday by the board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He said Iran has been absolutely cooperative and transparent so far with the IAEA and adoption of such a far-fetched resolution is simply unjustified.
‘The resolution was politically motivated and therefore it is of no value whatsoever from our point of view.’ He told IRNA this morning.
One of the main complaints by the board of governors concerned Iran’s supposedly hidden activities particularly with respect to the Fardow nuclear enrichment plant. However, Iran, well in advance, informed the existence of fardow site to the international watchdog before it should become operational in the future.
IAEA members are obliged to inform the agency six months before a nuclear related program or plant becomes operational. The Fardow site would start operation two year from now and Iran showing full transparency informed the agency, last September.
Ebrahimi said it seems the more Iran cooperated with international institutions the bolder the US and certain European states have become towards the country’s peaceful nuclear program.
He said the country doesn’t fear those kinds of resolutions, as we will continue on our path of progress in all fields.
