Constructions of New Sites Would Begin Within Two Months
Tehran, Nov. 29, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian Atomic Energy Organization was given a major task this morning by the government to begin construction of ten additional nuclear enrichment sites across the country in the near future.
The news comes amidst the IAEA’s demanding Iran to halt enrichment activities, stopping the Ferdow enrichment plant construction and give further open access to any suspected sites or installations.
The government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in its Sunday cabinet meeting asked the AEO to begin construction of five of those proposed nuclear enrichment sites in two months time.
The AEO should also conduct studies as to the locations for the remaining five nuclear enrichment sites anywhere inside the country that would be most suitable.
The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization has a timetable to provide 20,000 mega watts of electricity for domestic consumption in ten years.
