Surprised at the decision
Tehran, Nov. 30. (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian officials today underlined Iran determination to continue on with the nuclear program despite increasing antagonism from Western powers.
In a press conference Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said he was surprised by such decision. ‘The stance recently announced by the Board of Governors about the Fordo site is really surprising.
The (UN) inspectors have visited the site and Iran revealed and introduced the site much sooner than the legal deadline stipulated in the rules,’ Larijani said. ’You (the Board members) issue a resolution instead of welcoming the move. The westerners are therefore seeking adventure,’ he added.
Elsewhere, a leading Member of Parliament, Jalal Kazemi gave his full support to a steadfast pursuit of the nuclear enrichment program and said Iran would not hesitate to enrich uranium to 20 percent under the IAEA supervision, if nuclear talks fail to bring desired outcome for the country.
Given the fact that Tehran’s 5mw reactor is the main source of radioisotopes for medical needs, then it makes little sense to expect that Tehran would wait for others to drag the process of supplying its fuel for very long time.
Iranian scientists and technicians have the ability to enrich uranium from 3.5 to 20 percent in a relatively short period. This process could supply the needed fuel for Tehran’s reactor, which has only around 1 year of fuel left for its optimal operation..To get access to the nuclear fuel Iran’s priority is to buy it from the suppliers.
Jalal Kazemi said Iran is carefully studying the situation and would make appropriate decision when the time comes. In other words, he said ‘all options are on the table.’
