No Need For a Mediator to Explain Iran's Transparent Position
Tehran, Dec. 08, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Ramin Mihmanparast, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, speaking to reporters on latest developments in reply to a question about certain countries acting as mediators said Iran’s nuclear policies are so transparent that there’s no need to have mediators to explain them.
The response was in reaction to a meeting held between Barack Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday in Washington in which the US President asked Erdogan to play the role of a mediator and make Iran accept Western demands. The Turkish Prime Minister soon after the meeting announced that he supports Iran’s pursuit of a domestic nuclear program and blamed Western powers for their rash judgements on this important issue.
Turkey, an important neighbour that has extensive cultural and historic affinities with Iran isn’t the only country that supports Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program. The majority of world countries also declared their full support for Iranian indigenous nuclear development.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesman substantiated this important piece of information by noting, ‘Our peaceful nuclear activity is supported by many world countries, one example is the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) member states and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which have repeatedly approved Iran's righteousness.’
Some Western countries eager to maintain their monopolies over important scientific matters lest they should lose their dwindling influence over other countries, have been voicing alarms at Iran’s scientific and nuclear achievements.
Almost a week ago the IAEA governing board under pressure from Western powers approved a resolution calling on Tehran to halt all nuclear enrichment related activities and allow for more inspections.
Iran rejected the resolution saying its nuclear program is not up for bargaining and it is going to continue on with its pre-planned developmental programs without a stop.
