Resistance Has Weakened the Israeli Regime
Damascus, Dec. 11, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian Defense Minister who is on an official visit to Syria underlined support for Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups during a meeting with Palestinian officials.
Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi described the situation in the region as the one that favors the resistant groups. He said the Israeli regime suffered from a big blow to its existence by the struggle of Lebanese and Palestinians during a meeting with Ahmed Jibril, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah, Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Vahidi said because of Palestinian people’s vigilance, bravery and strength, the spirit of resistance continues to live through difficult years and the challenge has weakened the Zionist regime. He gave examples of Israeli defeats in southern Lebanon and Gaza as clear examples of divine assistance.
Israel by waging two consecutive offensives on southern Lebanon on 12th July 2006 and on Gaza Strip last year, sought to exhaust the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance groups. Tel-Aviv was forced to withdraw its forces soon after it faced massive challenges from both fronts.
Vahidi reiterated Iran’s support for people of Palestine and Lebanon and said Iran will stand by the Palestinians until the liberation of the holy Qods.
