Cuba an Axis of Humanity : Morales
Dec. 16, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Bolivia’s popular President Evo Morales warned the United States and its small number of allies in the region to stay away from making troubles in Latin America.
The Bolivian President, who is attending a key economic and political summit known as ALBA in Havana, accused the US of launching an open aggression against Latin America. ‘We are going to defend Latin and South America from this military aggression of the United States,’ Morales said.
Morales likened the ongoing US warmongering attitudes in the region to the one in Vietnam and assured the region will become a second Vietnam for the US aggressors. He said, ‘In the same way the gringos (United States) were defeated in Vietnam, it will happen to them in the region, because Latin America will react to any aggression.’
Bolivia’s progressive leader said the US labelling of Cuba as an ‘axis of evil’ was the biggest lie of its kind as Cuba is truly an ‘axis for humankind’ which has set an example not only for people in Latin America but in fact for people all over the world.
Morales blasted US plans to establish military bases in Colombia close to its border with Venezuela as a plan that not only threatens Venezuela but also the whole region. He recommended a continental referendum to be held in order to show the region’s rejection of the military agreement between Washington and Bogota.
Morales confidently predicted that very soon there would be no more pro-US governments or supporters in the region. He said,’ there will not be colonies or masters to impose their policies, not even of political character.’
