Iranian MP's Call For Limiting Diplomatic Relations With Britain
Dec. 17, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The unemployment crisis in the UK is gripping the nation more than ever as the jobless rate reached a 13-year high from August to October and the number of unemployed hit 2.49 million people. In the midst of the current economic climate in the UK, the Iranian MP's called for limiting diplomatic ties with Britain.
Britain’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) a government affiliated agency, reports jobless claims rose 21,000 to 2.49 million which is the highest in recent years. One of the hardest hit sectors of the UK workforce is the age group between 16 to 24 meaning the younger generation would have harder times to gain necessary job experience needed for the future.
The government think tanks say it is more likely the UK economy will shed more jobs as the recession deepens. A leading expert on the subject Howard Archer (IHS Global Insight economist) says people should expect more job losses to come soon.
’Even if the economy does finally return to growth in the fourth quarter as seems probable, activity is still unlikely to be strong enough during much of 2010 to prevent further net job losses,’ he said.
Meanwhile British government’s recent attitudes over Iranian nuclear dossier have invited tough reactions from the Iranian MP’s. During yesterday’s Majlis session, the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee urged the Foreign Ministry to reduce the level of diplomatic relations with London from ambassadorial level to charge d’affaires.
Iranian MP Reza Karimirad said the committee are examining the British government’s ‘viciousness’ for its interventionist attitudes in Iran’s internal affairs. This is while the government of Gordon Brown has become an unusually active player at spreading negative publicities about Iranian peaceful nuclear program in recent months.
