Internet And Satellite Are Being Used To Stage The Soft War
Dec. 21, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian Army Commander Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan warned of enemy’s increasingly sophisticated psychological warfare against Iran during a local gathering in Tehran on Sunday.
He told the gathering the enemy is using its mercenary forces inside the country to stage soft war against people. He called the soft war as the most potent form of interventions in other country’s affairs by targeting cultural, social, ideological bases and minds of people particularly those of the younger generations'.
Pourdastan mentioned both Internet and satellite as two main venues that local mercenaries use in order to conduct a vicious psychological war against the country. In this way, the Top General said there would be no need to fire a shot because enemies can bring a nation to its knees by targeting it through complex psychological warfare.
General Pourdastan emphasized though the more an enemy deploys soft war methods, the more resistant people become in the process. He said that Iran follows a defensive doctrine and seeks lasting peace in the region.
