White House Spokesman Again Targeted Iran's Transparent N. Program
Dec. 22, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - White House today warned Iran that it must accept the proposed nuclear fuel exchange deal or face consequences. The stern warning by Robert Gibbs spokesman comes just two days before Christmas amidst his country's involvements in each and every existing global crisis from economic and environment to wars.
The spokesman said the latest deadline was serious and Western powers would begin the next phase if Tehran doesn’t comply. ‘Mr. Ahmadinejad may not recognize, for whatever reason, the deadline that looms, but that is a very real deadline for the international community,’ Gibbs said in a report by Reuters.
‘Those preparations have begun. Discussions have been had with leaders about those next steps,’ he said. ‘So we've begun to take those steps if ...Iran is unwilling to pursue its responsibilities.’
The United States and its allies up until this day have been working quite hard to portray Iran’s nuclear program as one that poses a grave danger to the planet. Iran is a signatory to the NPT and its nuclear activities are the most transparent of such programs in the world.
